Meet Our Physician & Staff
James R. Lebolt, DO
Dr. Lebolt is a native of Hurricane, WV. He is a 1996 graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. He earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001, and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Michigan State University working with the Spartan athletic teams.
His other experience in sports medicine includes intimate work with the University of Alabama, Jacksonville State University, and the Washington Redskins. He has had the opportunity to treat athletes from MLB, NFL, and the NBA during his fellowship with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL. He is currently Team Orthopedic Surgeon for the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Radford University Highlanders.
He is published in numerous orthopedic surgery journals and presented topics in Sports Medicine on the national level. He has performed meniscal and cartilage transplants and specializes in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Dr. Lebolt and his wife live in Christiansburg, VA.
Our Physician Assistant
Beth Ashe, PA
Beth Ashe is a physician assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. A 2002 graduate of Jefferson College of Health Sciences, Beth received her B.S. in Physician Assistant Studies and graduated “Summa Cum Laude”. Previously, she worked with Dr. Jeremy Hatch specializing in total joint replacements and Dr. Scott Urch specializing in sports medicine.
Beth will now be treating patients in the office independently and concurrently with Dr. James Lebolt specializing in sports medicine focusing on disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. She is qualified to perform complete patient assessments, order tests, and imaging studies. Treatments provided will include: casting/splinting, administering injections, and prescribing medications. She will assist Dr. Lebolt in the operating room with major surgeries on Mondays and Wednesdays as well as assisting with post-operative care of patients at Montgomery Regional Hospital.
She resides in Blacksburg, Virginia with her husband, Tony.
